How do I block unwanted downloaders?
15 June 2012 09:04 AM

You can create an .htaccess file and upload it in the “www” directory of your FileBurst account. It’s a plain ASCII text file named ”.htaccess” (note the period at the beginning of the file name).

An example of a .htaccess file with rules to block by IP address is as follows:

Order Deny,Allow
Deny from 127.0.0.1
Deny from 192.168.1.1
Allow from all

If you cannot view the .htaccess file after you upload it, you need to configure your FTP client to show hidden files (or files that start with a period). You can also view/edit the .htaccess file from the web-based File Manager in the Control Panel.
